JOSEPH, FROM SLAVE TO GOVERNOR

"Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: "There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed to my sheaf." Genesis 37:5-7.

In the days of Joseph they did not have the Bible as we do today. So when Joseph had the dream it was God revealing to him the plan He had for him. Joseph was God fearing person from his youth, and when he received the dreams from God, he believed it, unlike many people today, they receive the word of God, a promise concerning their lives, but they are quick to discard it.

Perhaps they are too caught up in their present situation, so it makes it difficult for them to understand how it is going to happen, especially when their present condition is not favorable towards them. But friend, please understand that when God is pleased to bless a person, it doesn’t matter how low in life that person is, all it takes is to believe God's promises, for as the scripture tells us, “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory,” 1 Samuel 3:8.

When we believe God, we are simply saying, “You are God and nothing is impossible for You”. When Joseph was given the promise, he believed it in his heart. The reason why we know he believed, it’s because he spoke about it. Even though he might have spoken about it to the wrong people, because his brothers, whom he told about his dreams became very jealous of him, but the fact he did speak about it shows that he believed it.

Many people today read and hear the word of God, but they laugh at it, then they wonder why they haven’t a fulfilled life. In addition, they always lack and feel as if something is missing in their lives.

However the way our life is has everything to do with how we view and receive the word of God. According to the word of God, if we do not believe we will never be established, as it is written “If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established,” Isaiah 7:9.

Another aspect to consider is, even though the devil came very strong against Joseph, trying to destroy him and stop the plan of God from being fulfilled in his life, Joseph never stopped trusting in God, neither did he doubt the promises of God, when he was being hated by his brothers and they put him in the pit, then sold him into slavery. Later on he was falsely accused, despised and rejected, then cast into prison and forgotten by those whom he helped. Yet through all this, he remained steadfast in his faith, standing upon the promises of God.

Friend, maybe you can identify with the story of Joseph very well, because of your own experience in life, but remember Joseph’s trouble ended and God lifted him out of slavery and made him a governor over the most powerful nation on earth in his days. “Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. “You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt,” Genesis 41:39-44.

Such is the greatness of our God friend, as soon as you finished reading this pamphlet; this is what I want you to do, get a sheet of white paper, sit down and write everything that has happened to you, or is being done to you in life in order to stop your dreams. As you write down your troubles, you may feel like crying, but do not stop, let your tears fall on the paper. After you have finished writing, fold it and put in an envelope and daily, pray over it, then on Sunday come participate in one of our services where myself and the team will be praying for God’s greatness and His favor to rest upon your life.

The same way the power of God brought Joseph out of slavery from the pit, to the palace, the resurrection power shall bring you out. As a man of God on a mission to lead people out of, defeat, shame, sickness and poverty, I encourage you to come and be part of this Great Day and experience the greatness of God in your life. In the following pages you will read testimonies of many who had their life transformed through the resurrection power of God. You can be next. God bless you Abundantly.
